UAM School Organization . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . UAM students engage in critical dialogue about how to convey a message in their media classes. They learn to choose the appropriate medium and language to effectively communicate a message, idea or belief. They transfer these skills to their academic classes, where teachers create curricula that highlight the connections across subject areas and the relevance to students’ lives. The relevance of their in-school learning is deepened through partnerships, which provide opportunities for student exposures, afterschool experiences and the professional development of school staff.
